Boulder Surprise

About two weeks ago, Pat came home from work with a trailer full of boulders. Naturally, my first question was, "What are the boulders for?" I have to admit, I was nervous to ask. I had a feeling that these boulders had "Family Project" written all over them.

This is one difference between Pat and I. I need to plan and prepare and mentally prepare and prepare some more and lay out the entire project in my mind before I can start. Pat on the otherhand digs right in. If a good idea comes to mind, he starts executing immediately. Hence the boulder surprise:)

Since then, the landscaping project has come a long way and I cannot take any credit. Pat has literally been out there any spare second that he has. He just cannnot get enough of this project. What a blessing it is to have a motivated spouse. He has made great progress and it is really coming together. Here are some highlights from the past couple of weeks.

#1 Boulder Moving : Pat and Dan and Jason literally rolled and pushed and heaved these 500 pound boulders off of the trailer and into place. Some of them had to go in the back yard so they had to cover some ground with a few of these. Thanks for your help guys!

#2 Blue Print : Pat spray painted the grass orange in the backyard to mark where all the landscaping was going to go. It literally looks like a football field with yard lines and words to indicate what goes where. I got such a kick out of that because I would never think to do that. Pat's drafting skills have been put to good use!

#3 Nighttime Landscaping: This is my personal favorite. Pat often gets started on the project in the afternoon or evening and has a hard time setting it down for the day, so he gets out his big garage spotlight and illuminates the yard and continues to work in the dark. I can only imagine what the neighbors must think. Clark is that you?

Here are a couple photos of the nightime landscaping.
