I Blinked

I feel like I blinked and all of a sudden Ellis is already 6 weeks old.
With his whirlwind arrival, the first couple weeks home were spent just getting ready for his arrival.  A bit of reverse nesting:)  And now we are feeling more settled.  The bins of boy clothes have been unpacked.  The infant equipment has found it's place once again in our living room and we are loving all the personality that is already emerging from our Darling little boy.

We got his crib set up and moved Ellis into Bennett's room at around the 1 month mark.  So now it is officially the boys' room.  Nights go pretty well with the both of them in there but I have not ventured into shared room nap territory yet.  I just don't want to risk losing Bennett's nap time yet.  I took everything down off the wall and rearranged the furniture.  Now I need to make time to spackle and paint over all the wall holes and re-hang Bennett AND Ellis décor in there.

At one month old, Ellis weighed in at 8 lbs 12 ounces (21% percentile).  That was a large jump up from his 7 lb weigh in at 2 weeks old so this little boy is growing like a weed.  And his length was up to 21.3 inches (47%).  The newborn clothes are packed up and the 0 to 3 month clothes are fitting just right.

Around week 3 we had a small set back and Ellis started to fuss and fuss for a few days straight.  We could tell that he seemed uncomfortable and thought it might be gas pains so we switched him to the gentler formula and that worked like magic.  After a couple days on the new formula, our happy camper was back!  Whew!

Tatum and Bennett have sort of switched roles.  Tatum has lost a little interest in her little brother lately.  She still likes to lay by him and give him toys but she doesn't seem to notice him quite as much.  Bennett on the other hand has done a 180.  He cannot get enough of him.  He loves to talk to him and kiss his head and loves to softly touch his hair.  He is very very sweet to him.  The other morning Bennett asked Pat if we could get another Ellis.  He said he wanted 2 of them because he loves him so much.

Oh and one more thing...our little smarty pants was smiling at 3 weeks old.  WAY earlier than my other two kids.  He is so advanced:)

We love you so so much Mr. Ellis.  You are one of the sweetest little babies I have ever held in my arms and you just melt me with your big beautiful eyes and that wonderful gummy smile! Such a treasure.
