Birthday Party: Edition 1

We celebrated Tatum's first birthday with a family "Cupcake" party on Sunday.  

By nature I am not a "Martha Stewart" do it yourselfer, but this year my motto was

"You only turn One once"

 

So I decided to go all out with the baking.

"All out" by my standards......

 which basically means not buying the cake.

And overall I was quite proud of my work.

And I even had a blister on my hand to prove that these creations were actually mine.

And not the usual bakery provided creations I would normally resort to.

After all, when the Birthday girl is this sweet.......

The baked goods should be too!

My only worry now is that somebody at the party pointed out that "You only turn....once" would indeed be true for any birthday no matter what the age.

So I might have some redeeming to do with my little boy.

Bennett - I promise your birthday cake will turn out better next year!
