Do you ever have those moments that you just really wish you could capture on film and of course you never have your camera with you? Last night was hands down one of those moments. I will try to use words to describe it but I just wish I had a photo.
I took the dogs (plural because we are dogsitting Sparky...which is a Kodak moment in and of itself and will be the subject of a future post) for a walk with Mindy and Kaylee. We were just coming around the south loop, as we like to call it, and I looked across the pond and saw a person riding a bike on the trail through the snow. I said to Mindy, "It kind of looks like that guy on that bike is wearing shorts." It was bitter cold with blustering winds, so it struck me as very odd that a person would be riding a bike...let alone in shorts. We kept walking and the biker rounded the pond and was headed right for us. So I called the dogs to get them leashed up so that they would not knock this crazy biker guy over into the snow. As the biker guy got closer I could see he was wearing shorts, a t-shirt and crocs....in zero degree weather.....what the H? Who does that? What kind of nutcase was this? I was so caught up on what he was wearing that I never even paid attention to his face. As he got closer he started to yell out "Lindsey....Lindsey" ....how does this crazy person know my name was my first thought and very quickly I realized that it was Pat. Within seconds of me realizing who he was, he crashed his bike into the snowbank. Mindy and I were laughing so hard and trying to process the scene at hand. Amidst my laughter, all I kept thinking was, "I wonder what the neighbors must think." I thought it was hysterical but if I saw my neighbor leave his driveway in sandals and shorts on a bike in snow and sleet, I would check the locks on my doors....CRAZY!
What would drive a man to such extreme measures??!! Well you see, Pat was slightly in the dog house yesterday and I think he knew the best way to get back into my good graces was to crack me up. I mean who could stay mad a guy on a bike in shorts and crocs in the snowbank? Not me!
