We enjoyed having my parents and sister and Wes come up and stay with us for a few days over the Christmas holiday. We also enjoyed having my grandparents, Aunt Cathy, Cousin Sissy and Mike and Baby Sydney come up to celebrate Christmas with us on Saturday after postponing it a day due to the weather. Everyone arrived safely and now everyone has returned safely given all the snow we received in the past few days.
Some highlights of the past couple of days:
1. The Feuling Family Christmas Eve walk as captured in the photo above. I will let you guess whose idea this was. In a good foot of snow we went for a trail walk and literally plowed our own way. It was great exercise given that we had to drag a foot of snow with us on each step and it tired the dogs out too which was the goal. We almost lost Carlee mid-walk as she was not digging the idea and threatened to turn around a couple of times. Also, please do not judge we for my bright yellow jacket. Safety before fashion!
2. The Feuling Family Christmas Eve trip to Running Aces to play some blackjack. Dad spotted everyone $20 to play 1 hour of blackjack. When your $20 was gone, you were out. To our surprise every single person came out ahead at the end of the hour. I think Carlee was the big winner with a loot of $47 dollars and I think in total between the whole family we won more than $150. What a nice Christmas surprise.
3. A Feuling Family return trip to Running Aces on the 26th. Given the luck of the previous night, we should have known what the outcome would be. Yep, all the winnings from the night before were lost and then some. I guess that is why the casinos are rich and gamblers are not:)
We had a lot of fun spending a few days together in Blaine and celebrating Christmas as a family. Thanks to all of you for making the trip up. We really enjoyed having you!
