Are you ready 4 some football?

There was a drawing at work for tickets to last night's pre-season Vikings game. We did not win....but it got our minds thinking about the game. After all, it was going to be Brett Farve's first game with the Vikings.

We decided to start looking on-line for tickets. My husband found 8 tickets at $1.97 each. It seemed soooo cheap that we were pretty sure it was a scam. But we thought, who cares, if it is a scam we are only out $16. Worth a shot.

Upon ordering the tickets, they tacked on service charges worth more than the tickets themselves and instructed us to pick up the tickets on the 8th floor of a downtown hotel. Shady alert shady alert! Mindy was convinced we were going to knock on some hotel room door and get mugged. But we thought again, worth a shot:)

So we loaded up the car with Mindy, Kaylee, Jason, Tyler, Tim and Trae-Dogg and headed downtown. We pulled up to the hotel and Pat ran in to get the tickets while we anxiously waited for him outside. About 5 minutes later, he came running outside with his hand over his chest (as if he had been shot) and yelled....you better take me to HCMC loud enough for most of the block to hear. He was of course kidding and had indeed gotten all 8 tickets from a kiosk on the 8th floor.

We enjoyed the pre-game activities on the plaza and had a great time at the game. I had never been to a Vikings game so it was interesting for me to see how they turn the Metrodome into a football stadium (I have always seen it for Twins baseball games). At one point I said, "Pat, it looks like we are in centerfield. See there is that big curtain that comes down with all the jerseys on it like Ken Griffey Jr and stuff."
To which he replied, " Hmm when exactly did Ken Griffey Jr play for the Twins?"
I got the point fairly quickly and realized that I had meant to say Kirby Puckett, sorry Kirby. That is why I follow reality TV and not sports:)
