A Thanksgiving visit to the Christmas Village
The Thanksgiving meal was hardly digested and we were already welcoming in the Christmas season with a walk through the Christmas village. Enjoying it while the weather was nice and mild.
Operation Xmas Child
I am very late on this post...but...we carried on the tradition this year and took all the neices and nephews shopping to pack Christmas boxes for Operation Christmas Child. I underestimated the number of different directions they could head in once we hit the doors of Dollar General:) So much fun to see all of these kiddos growing up so close!
Capping off the adventure with a cookie at KTIS.

Fire Alarm
The baby is sleeping upstairs in his room and I am making a pizza for lunch and all of a sudden our fire alarm starts going off. Yes, our fire alarm is more sensitive than a middle school girl and goes off at the drop of a hat. You barely pre-heat the oven these days and it goes off. And there is nothing that can make a mom run faster than a loud noise that could potentially wake the sleeping baby and change the course of the entire afternoon (except maybe a rockin' black friday deal...moms run fast for those). So I ran as fast as I could...dish towel in hand...and waved that towel in front of that alarm as hard and fast and quick as I could for what seemed like an eternity and then it stopped. And there I stood outside Ben's room just waiting for it....the crys of my nap-less baby...I waited ......but they never came. I cannot believe it, Ben slept straight through the fire alarm. Thank goodness! Whew dodged that bullet!

Big Brown Dog Update
I got this email from my mom earlier in the week. It's good to know Hudson is still up to her usual tricks.
Last night Hudson barks, she has to go out int the middle of the night....so I let her out. SO... Sparky gets up as soon as she goes outside to lay on her Big Bed, there is only one now, the other was eaten by" Big Brown Dog". Hudson continues to bark after she is let back in, tattling that Sparky won't get off her bed. I just leave them alone cause I know she just went to the bathroom.
Morning arrives....Sparky and Hudson snuggled on "Big Brown Pillow" together.
What a great " Love Story"

Trick or Treat
Benny had a blast figuring out the trick or treating gig. He never actually tried any candy but had a blast lining up the candy in straight lines in the foyer like matchbox cars. I don't think he even realizes that what he collected was food and not toys. He also really enjoyed unpacking his bucket
one....
piece....
of .....
candy .....
at .....
a .......
time.......
and them repacking it
....one

Here is our "Little Blue Monster" checking out his costume in the mirror. He, much like everyone else, was not exactly sure what the costume was. Thorughout the night he was referred to as a dinosuar, shark, blue cow while we just continued to refer to his costume as the blue lil monster.
Sneaking a piece of candy when dad was not looking.
He enjoyed helping dad pass out candy by putting candy into other kid's buckets as they came trick or treating at our door......the only problem was that after he put it in their bucket, he wanted to take it back out. There is always next year to work on manners right??!!
He ran full speed up to every house we went too. The walk in between each house, however, was not so fast.
Until next year, Happy Halloween!
