How Daddys Do Things

Did you ever notice how daddy's do things? It's not quite the way mommy does things, but I guess it works just the same. See Exhibit A above. I came downstairs to head to work the other morning and I saw Pat getting Bennett's bottle ready....and Bennett was just hanging out laying on the counter watching him. Dad even gave him a little roll of paper towel as a head rest....hmmmm... interesting....I would not have thought of that one. Whatever works!

1030 Days of Wedded Bliss

I was looking around at wedding websites on the knot.com and decided to check and see if ours was still up. It is .....and it told me that Pat and I have been newlyweds for 1030 days. Crazy to think about how fast it has gone. So I decided to do the math for my grandparents that just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last week. They have been newlyweds for 20,075 days. They have basically been married 20 times longer than Pat and I.
Here is to the next 19,000+ days together Honey!!

Rose Colored Glasses

My dad and I were talking about how you always think your kid is the cutest. It's a parents instinct to see their child with rose colored glasses. He went on to tell me that after I was born he went back to work and told the lady that worked next to him that his baby looked like Brooke Shields. Really dad...Brooke Shields?! I think that might have been a bit of a stretch dad. Ohhhh the power of a father's love!

Future Rockstar

Ben seems to be a natural on the air guitar...notice the ambidextrous nature of his playing capabilities. I also notice that he must have started using the "wrinkle creams" and "hair implants"that all the celebrities use in order to be discovered. I must say his "stylists" sure do have him looking great! I can tell he has been working on his technique.

Labor Day 2010

1/12/11 (Half Birthday)

6 Months Today

Bennett is 6 months today. He is 15 1/2 lbs and 26 inches. The doctor says he is a 30/30/30 kid which makes him very proportional as all stats seem to land him right around the 30th percentile. He has been growing taller and his thinning hair has been growing in as well! He is starting to look like a "little dude" with his bangs that just kind of lay as they please:) He is a twelve hour sleeper these days. We have to try hard to keep him up until 7 pm as he is sooo ready for sleep by then. This week he just started eating solids at all three meals so that is keeping him very busy and very messy....hello laundry. He has graduated from the size 2 diaper to the size three and his 3-6 month clothes do not really fit him anymore. He loves his hands...he wraps his sleeve around his hand and sucks on it as he falls asleep...or pretty much anytime he is trying to entertain himself. His favorite toy these days is his pal scout which he got from Grandma Grape for Christmas. Ben loves anything that plays music. He has learned that in the tub the harder he kicks his feet...the more the water splashes so bath time has gotten a lot more interesting ....and a lot more wet....I need golashes and a raincoat to escape in any presentable fashion. He watches Hudson's every move these days and once and a while (usually when he is very tired) he will cry when we are out of his sight...but that lasts for about ten seconds and then he forgets all about the fact that he cannot see us. He is sitting like a champ. He still needs just a tad bit of support so he does not tip side to side but I give it another week and I think he will be sitting all on his own. What a kid he is. So so precious and fun. I would never in a million years have guessed when 2010 started what a blessed year it would be for our family. Best six months of our lives! We love you Benny!
