Good Cop Bad Cop

I got an email update from one of the babycenter websites telling me what I might expect from my 46 week old. They said that a child at this age may have up to 5 words that they can say....What 5 words???!! We are certainly not there yet. It described to me that in order to increase a child's vocabulary parents should describe all their daily activities to their child. It gave the example of cooking and telling the child "this is a pan and I cook dinner with a pan." or while sweeping telling them, "this is a broom and I sweep with a broom."

So this morning before work I was telling Pat about this email and we were more joking and making fun of it given we rarely follow the textbook on parenting. Immediately Pat turned to Bennett and stuck his butt out while pointing to it and said "This is a butt and I poop from my butt." Did I add that he was in his boxers (TMI!????)

And this my friends is the battle I am up against. Hmmmm I wonder who will be the fun parent?
